There’s something special about creating works from salvaged, rare, and found items, turning scars and blemishes into features, reassembling materials into new forms. It results, not only in objects that tell their own story, but also reveals to us these parts of ourselves.

Mark, an artist currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah, follows a multidisciplinary approach to his art. Combining wood, metal, fabric, or other materials into mixed media art and functional objects, his processes include woodworking, forced patina, and painting. He highly values study, practice, exploration, and play in his creative pursuits, striving for high levels of craftsmanship, so that the viewer only sees the marks he intends them to see so the materials can tell their story as well.

“If you want to work on your art, work on your life.” -Anton Chekhov, Russian Playwright
